Yeah, very negative and narky. The handbags really need to stop, it’s an attempt to stop a football match breaking out. I’d say Naomh Conaill will have it mostly their own way today and MacCumhaills v Dungloe is a hard one to call. Draw then this evening although I most admit that I am not quite sure what’s happening with that. Repeat fixtures being prohibitory aside, is there any structure to it?

Fully deserved. What did he think he was at and them just after scoring the goal. Some poor shooting from him as well.
Patton had a few dodgy moments under the high ball.Some of kick outs were poor. Paddy McBrearty looked good first half. Faded a bit in the second. Surprised at the end with time up Kilcar took that last free short. Paddy looked to be coming out to take it. Looked to be within his range.
Poor enough game overall I thought.

Not many shocks over the weekend. Maybe Glenfin but with Hugh going off early it wasn’t a huge surprise. Gallagher is such a defensive coach, too mouthy as well on the line.

Meanwhile the strong appear even stronger this year, Kilcar, Eunan’s, Gaoth Dobhair amd Naomh Conaill just casting aside the rest.

Any other injuries over the weekend?

There’s an outline of proposed fixtures on the county Website. The championship sounds weird. 2 groups of 8 but you only play 4 other teams. A regional league starts in mid July and has 6/7 games but county men Are only allowed to pay in 2. That’s bulls**t.

Exactly and I would have expected Ulster winners to play Connacht winners on account of the fact they played Munster winners last year and Leinster the year before. Granted it at a quarter final stage but with the change it is still how it should be rotated. If there was genuine reason I'd love to know it but I'm struggling to see a valid argument. Yeah we play them before that in the league. Would we want to win that game now knowing a championship rematch is just around the corner?

Although I have no doubt Dublin John jury rigged the semi finals, if we were to get through Ulster, I would consider it an advantage to play the Dubs in their first competitive game of the year

After looking into it they actually changed the pairings at the start of the super 8s. They are reverting to old pairings eg Ulster/Leinster in 11,14, 17 and now 20 so that is their spin This is still not right though because the fact is they did change the pairings and if you want to go back you use what 2018 would have been had the quarters remained. This stinks of finding a way of getting a Dublin Kerry final.

I am not sure. Ulster are getting shafted. Someone correct my logic if I am wrong but this is how I see it.

Format Pre 2001
Province A vs. Province B.
Province C vs. Province D.

Quarter finals era
Province A or Qualifier vs. Province B or Qualifier
Province C or Qualifier vs. Province D or Qualifer

Super 8s and how this year was origally intended
Province A/Province B/Qualifer/Qualifier
Province C/Province D/Qualifer/Qualifer

so take this year as originally drawn and connvert it to pre 2001 that is Connact vs. Ulster in my money. It has always rotated in this way up to the present day.

That would be a joke if they done that while maintaining the provincial draws that were already made. They probably know if it as its meant to be be its a dead cert of a Dublin Kerry Semi with both winning their provinces with minimum of fuss.

No definitely not and the Super 8s haven't been good to us so could suit us bypassing that. A lot to play for and big motivation for the players. A chance to create history and win 3 Ulsters in a row for the first time ever which would take us to a winnable AI Semi (Connacht champions I believe). Anyway something to look forward to later in the year. I'm sure Tyrone would love to ruin this grand plan.

My thoughts exactly. An open draw with Div 1 & 2 seeded would be interesting.
