I like Rudiger, he's the best they have back there I think. As with all their defenders (and keepers), he's had a rough year this year with Frank coaching one of the most exposed defenses in the Prem. Chelsea were caught on the break more times than any other team in the entire league this season, which is a fairly shocking indictment of their setup in midfield. It's an interesting one though, for a country so historically reknowned for quality defensive players, very few of the high profile ones ever make their way to England. Weirdly few players come from Serie A to the Prem in general really, in comparison to the other top leagues imports.

~Rebel~ wrote: » Yeah, I think its more a case that not many great CB's have come from Serie A in the first place. It's almost just as difficult to answer "who's is the last CB to come to England from Seria A and fail". Having real trouble thinking of any high-profile CB's that came from Italy over the past 15 years or so...

Just look at the replies to anything the club tweets these days, its an absolute embarrassment, that and the FSG out types . If they can't be happy after the last couple of seasons they never will be. The argument is you buy from a position of strength and maybe keep winning, yeah all good if its possible but it guarantees you nothing, just like not buying and going with what we have guarantees nothing either but certainly doesn't guarantee failure like some seem to think it does.

Norwich convinced a second offer will come in for Lewis, £15m would be a ‘palatable amount’ according to figures close to the club.
~Rebel~ wrote: » This is it really. No point getting too stressed what others are doing. They're the ones playing catch up. Just keep things steady, keep looking for promising players that are already good but can take their next big step with us, and the rest takes care of itself. Find it hard to see beyond the same top 4 next season, with the same top 2 out in front. Could see Utd being the one to get closer with their spending, but I just don't see Ole mounting a title challenge. Think he's their weakest link when it comes down to it. Same for Chelsea really, Frank is a good attacking manager with excellent attacking players, but is absolutely atrocious defensively. They'll cause a bit of chaos, and pull off big wins, but ultimately will drop too may stupid points as long as he's in charge.

Further indications that Jamal Lewis will end up becoming a Liverpool player this summer. Norwich have begun the process of finding his replacement and are resigned to him leaving. Negotiations between clubs continuing
