That includes encouraging the squalid conditions, refusal to provide basic hygiene products, etc. MAVNI program members have been deported - these are DACA children who grew up in our country, and joined our military to bleed and sweat to earn their citizenship. Of all people, they deserve a path to citizenship the most, not deportation. Simply crossing the border being an illegal act is a cop-out, one long codified into law: if you are an honest to god refugee, in order to seek asylum in the US you in effect have to start the asylum process by first making an illegal crossing. You have to be on American soil to declare your intent to seek asylum. You cannot do so at a consulate or embassy. It has to be within our sovereign boundary. Blaming the parents for being refugees is a ridiculous cop-out.
