For it's time it really was a biting satire of racism that was fairly commonly held back then. Only the permanently offended who are intellectually incapable of seeing the real message behind it's repeated use of the N word will be outraged by it being on TV.

Id safely say we watched it a couple of times a month.
We were constantly quoting it.....if only it was needed for the exams!

It's an endlessly quotable film.( I've put up a few on the film quotes thread) and in the top 2 or three funniest films ever made, along with Life of Brian and possibly Airplane.
