If the item's barcode details don't match or fit with the prize barcode scanned from your phone then their system will not accept it. For example a bottle of Pepsi would have slightly different info on it's barcode to a Pepsi Max so gets rejected when they scan it at the till. At least that's the way I understand it.

Not in my experience...lol...tried to redeem a carwash... Place didn't have a carwash...could have sworn it was there when I parked up and clicked redeem, walked into the shop and requested a car wash.
