I've actually known a few through mutual friends its painful to be around and actually frustrating at times.

I am not entirely clear on what exactly a simp is, but my friend's brother is in a tough spot. He's your classical "geek" with the greatest respect for the guy and he's basically a super-obese recluse at this point. Apparently he's hardcore addicted to all sorts of weird internet sex stuff.

He changed his name on WhatsApp to mistress Samantha's submissive bitch or some crazy bollocks like that and he posts on the family WhatsApp group with that name and a photo of him with a ball gag in as his profile pic. The guy needs an intervention or something but what can you do. I think all that stuff is mental illness at some level.

Pretty sure it’s a Twitch term which refers to a guy who fawns over a girl streamer or OnlyFans model or whatever; anyone who donates to them or defends them when they’re being “attacked” by the usual Twitch users. The implication being the’re a simpleton for donating money and time and energy to some unattainable Internet persona who strings them along.

If someone is a simpering idiot then call them a simpering idiot and don't shorten and redefine what is a perfectly good and easily understood term of abuse. Or step it up a notch and call them a blithering idiot, when simpering just won't do.
