Leo says the Civil Service is 'very white'

Imagine the shock and horror in Leinster House when it was discovered that a country, where over 91% of the population are white, has a civil service that is 'very white'. To correct this error, he would like to use targets for the civil service to hire more minorities.

These kinds of targets are illogical and in no way should a public servant be hired on the basis of their skin colour or race but this is what he wants to introduce.

Is this just another reactionary policy in reaction to the death of George Floyd or does it have merit? Obviously recruiters in the civil service are racists otherwise there would be no need for such a policy/target.

Really quite bizarre that a man of Indian heritage who has risen to the most powerful position in the country after a life of privilege as a Drs son and then a Dr himself, feels that we operate some sort of glass ceiling for non-white people.

I have never heard Leo's race, appearance, ethnic background ever be referred to an issue in any regard.

He himself is the greatest evidence for the fact that race is not a determinant of success in politics here.

Then if we look at some information available:

In 2016 a total of 1093 prople were killed by the police in the US.

Of that 574 were white, 266 were black, 183 hispanic, 24 native American and Asian.

And we have an idiot accidental Taoiseach who makes a racist comment.

It make me wonder abuout the intelligence of the Irish people to do nothing about being subjugated by a corrupt government but will march in the streets about an issue that is not an issue in Ireland (until the mainstream media and propaganda wing of the government made it an issue by agenda)

Also, racism is not just about white people, I have witnessed white people being racially abused by non-white people more than once.
