The Restaurant Recommendation Thread

There's been a crazy number of threads recently looking for restaurant recommendations, so I'd like to start a specific thread for it. Please post below about your favourite restaurants - why you like them, what price range they are, what type of food they serve, if they have an early bird, opening hours if you know them, where they're located. If you could include a link to the website, that would be great. The more details, the better. This is not a thread to post negative reviews - there's a thread in the main Food & Drink forum for that if you like. Basically, I want this thread to be full of recommendations, not positive and negative reviews. That being said, you can disagree with a recommendation briefly if you really feel the need to, but you must have a really valid reason such as an awful experience, rather than "I don't really like the food" or "It's too expensive".

Got the set dinner from Ali's kitchen last week. Superb and excellent value, probably the nicest lasagne I've eaten. Easily the best meal I've had since this whole mess began.

Got the take away, finish it yourself, offering from Greens last week
While the food tasted really good the portion sizes (especially the beef featherblade ) were tiny.
Nice food, but poor value for money IMO

The Swandwich Stall in English market have boosted up their pieces by a good bit. Don't know if I'll go back. I can get the same stuff in Sonnys , and without the hassle of going into the market.

Coffee was fine for me but it would need to be really terrible before I'd notice. Only restaurant in Cork where I've found the coffee cr*p is strangely the cafe in the Crawford, food is fine there so no idea why.

Yeah I haven't seen any place reduce their prices. A lot are actually more expensive sometimes because they don't have the usual lunch menus.

It's annoying sometimes when standards are a lot lower, got really soggy chips from Captain Americas yesterday that tasted like they'd been sitting around and reheated. I was early to collect and opened them in the car on the way home (wasn't driving) so they should have been fresh. Don't think they would have served them to a sit down customer.

Pizzas in Ireland are, imo, almost always overloaded with tomato and toppings - particularly cheese.

I've ordered lots of la tana in the past. They lay the toppings on heavy. Surprised to hear they've changed. I stopped going to them when they increased their prices by about 15% earlier in the year/late last year.

Have you tried to use deliveroo and get food delivered to your office there is planty of places on there for lunch

The sandwich place in the English Market is also open and do excellent food.

I got a takeaway from Tradehouse in Ballincollig the other night. Food was gorgeous and ready bang on the time I requested. (No delivery - you collect it yourself).

Thinking of trying Spitjack next weekend.

If people are feeling short changed, things rarely taste great.
I agree, pricing of pizza and toppings is a bit bonkers here.
I just don't expect what I consider good pizza in Ireland, the consumer won't allow it.

That's fair enough but an extra 4 euro for half a sausage and a tiny bit of mushroom is a rip offa nd the pizza wasn't anything special either. If it was properly tasty I wouldn't mind so much

One of the best pizzas I ever had was in Hong Kong of all places, the place in the MICHELIN Guide and is considered the best pizza in Hong Kong,

It’s Italian style base with a over load of toppings and it was amazing the test everything was just perfect, it wasn't cheap I think 24 euros for a pizza however it was worth every penny and I still dream of the taste,

Also bubble waffles I went to the best place for that in Hong Kong and my god it was amazing something so cheap and basic, no where in Ireland has matched this at all ..
