FG to just do nothing for the next 5 years.

It seems FG will be very happy to just sit on their hands for 5 years. Would FG voters be happy with this, as it means all those FG votes mean nothing, and do nothing.

Having been in power for 9 years, they did nothing, people have no homes, people still on trollies.

FG may have given some of their rich buddies some tax breaks.

But other than that, they did what FG do best, are their poor hands not numb by now.

I'd be neither myself but still think FG are worse than FF on the whole - pissed away a mandate and golden opportunity to reform the business of politics and government in this country after 2011, squandered the subsequent recovery while somehow making core issues worse, and limped from scandal to scandal over the course of 2 terms.

As I've said before, the only reason we haven't seen more of it is they historically are never elected unless as a protest vote and only until they make FF electable again, which they did this time too with the added achievement of making SF the main opposition party in the process.

A work friend dad is sick, anyway he was going to the local hospital for threatment. Now with private hospital open instead of local hospital he is going to the private. The local is dealing with Covid. SO it means he is getting to see specialist he might not have got to for months

The private hospitals are the back up for covid but wisely it seems the HSE are using the private for day to day health care while they concentrate on covid. Of course the private will be brought in if a spike

Good plan do you think?

no idea if this was a HSE decision, FG or whoever but makes sense to me.

I was figuring FF & FG would secure the backing of enough independents to give them a technical majority, just to let the Greens know the show could go on without them, but seems like it might have to be either one or the other:

It is understood Labour will now compile a number of questions about the two parties' policies, and then respond formally to Mr Martin and Mr Varadkar next week.

All parties Greens, SD's and Labour would be expected to respond, even for the sake of good manners.

The green's demands as they stand will definitely be unacceptable to FF and FG but if there is compromise on the Green's part there might be some room for agreement. My personal opinion is that the Greens will talk, not get what they want, and then drop out.

Labour are almost certain to drop out. Asking questions is nowhere close to saying yes and it will be easy to ask questions that will get them off the hook from continuing talks.

SD's look as if they have no interest whatsoever.

If the Greens are prepared to significantly compromise there might be a deal. If not then Leo will have to do yet another U-turn and agree to forming a government with the independents making up the numbers. The alternative is a new election.

What's your point about her? Anytime anyone mentioned the Dinny and larry beds and concerns over the cost to the tax payer you threw in O'Reilly. All I could glean from it was she suggested a provider. What's the problem there?

I ditched Labour after they let Kenny away with business as usual. Kelly will do them no favours. Greens are never going to get any meaningful policies through and Eamo knows it. Kelly loves power, they just need give him a badge and a hat to say he's important and FF/FG are monstrous crony incompetents. Be nice to see them all circle the toilet.

We had really bad times, when we really needed extra hospital beds..

People were dying on stretchers and trollies, and in corridors, because wards were full.

But FG said there was no money to open up more beds. Plus it was only the poor that might end up on a trolley, so all was OK with them.

Now rich people are on trollies, and in corridors,, and all of a sudden we need to rent a hospital of Dinny to fix this.

Now we see who FG really care about,, now you see why we find it funny, and add in €115 million a month for the boss,, you might see why we are cynical....

You do realise that the money being spent now is from the emergency fund. Where are the people on trolleys now? Having spent time on a trolley a few years ago, the number of drunks, people with broken bones from a few days ago, etc was staggering.
