Much smaller menu than normal, i'd say only 8 or so options. Around 4 people inside waiting for food, all of us well spread out. Food was brought from kitchen and left on a table, paid via card online and got a text to come down and collect. The guy waiting inside and getting orders ready wiped down the counter, door handle and table the food was left on anytime someone came in or took their food and left. While I was there the phone was ringing constantly even though you had to order online, the guy said they had to stop taking orders for the night as they couldn't fulfill them due to skeleton staff and stock. Couldn't really fault them in terms of adhering to the guidelines, certainly seemed more organised than i've seen Luigis and Billy Bunters were. They're just down the road from me and anytime i've passed in the last few weeks have been busy in the evenings at least.I think the reason Mimosa closed is they were unsure on the Friday what the new restrictions were, as were many other businesses like them. I assume they are better prepared in terms of stock and staffing for the rush they're likely to have this weekend so are re-opening. I'm glad they are, people need to be able to treat themselves and things are grim enough. I'd much rather a mimosa than a chipper and La Boheme is terrible in comparison, its basically chipper food in tapas portions, do not understand its appeal.

The main problem is that it was all advice & guidelines etc.; no prohibition orders were made & some just closed because they simply couldn't run a premises doing social distancing (Foundry for example); the grey areas've left a lot in limbo. I guess the issue will be how lax will the various premises become in terms of social distancing even when they're all only doing takeaway. I'd still be shockd if Scraggs/Tullys reopened in any shape (though Scraggs isn't a food pub to be fair) or any other pub in the town.

Drove through Carlow town today (don’t know the road name but passed by Mcdonalds with the fountain on the left hand side then up Barracks street) and the good lady wife remarked it was almost as busy as a “normal day” before this curse of a virus. I don’t know what to say - do Carlow ppl feel the worst has passed/won’t affect them?

Carlow County residents are doing better than most neighbouring counties for infections. Carlow - 1.18% of Ireland population - 0.3% of Ireland infections Kilkenny - 2% of Ireland population - 1.4% of Ireland infections Laois - 1.71% of Ireland population - 0.7% of Ireland infections Kildare - 4.54% of Ireland population - 4.1% of Ireland infections Dublin - 26.5% of Ireland population - 54% of Ireland infections

Can't remember specific time r/n but there was a bit of a set-to between the security guard there & one of the towns "characters"; he'd seemingly nicked a bottle of Coca Cola & was challenged & him & security got some digs/slaps in before he moved off. His Misssus was in line in another queue as it happens too; she paid for the items in her hand...... No Gda. were called which was unusual; the couple "live" across the road in the squat on Kennedy Ave.
