I have recently started purchasing the packets of Aldi's microwavable salad potatoes (they are in a see-through packet and have a green logo. Cost is about €0.70 IIRC) to make "chipper" chips. The feedback I have received has been fantastic and with some salt and vinegar they are as close to chipper chips as you can get without frying IMO. ... Try and let me know what you think
