There is no way that Channel 4 would allow the Inbetweeners be shown if it came out today without fiddling with it. Any so called homphobic slurs would be cut out and the cast would need to be "diverse"

It sounds crazy. WHY or WHERE would you get 700000 to watch that.. actually just reading and RTÉ don’t quote any sources, must be their own number.

It’s dated slightly in that respect. Also in earlier episodes there would be certain gags in certain scenarios that’s by today’s standards could be considered racist... John Sullivan probably very cleverly got and gets away with it as part of the appeal of the show is that every character get the piss ripped out of them for any and ALL reasons... so it’s not discriminatory.

Indeed. I love Fr Ted but the idea of incompetent, criminal priests was a lot more subversive even in the 90s than it would be now.

I remember the last time Mrs Doubtfire was repeated on RTE or whoever, thinking this gas film likely will be blacklisted within a few years. The idea there should be something humorous, over the top or ridiculous about a man dressing as a woman as the plot of a comedy will no doubt get it tossed in the drawer soon enough.

UK Gold already cuts the casual racist references, unfortunately. It's a comedy of its time, leave it be.

Awe no ''Buck Rogers in the 25th Century'' is classic. I love watching it when its on the T.V which is rare enough.
Maybe it was very sexist alright and it would have to be wrote different for sure now but I still love it.
