That's on the cards regardless anyways along with surface x, and kerrsole/wheel cleaner stuff.

Also looking at a new Karcher pressure washer K4 or K5 but will hold off until things pass.

Might also take a spin up to MCG in Kells, again when things pass. They seem to have a great selection of detailing products, chemical guys amongst others.

Would you not consider a Kranzle washer?

Dunno tbh. Never really heard of them though I do vaguely remember you mention them before.

I just want something with decent bar and that I can wind the hose up and keep tidy.

I have an Autobrite snow foam lance for a good few years too. As the lads said above never a problem with it. Autobrite’s snow foam, magifoam, is good imo. I think it’s better than BH Autofoam, I’ve found that it dwells longer and cleans better but you do have to observe dilution rates as it is caustic. It hasn’t removed my Fusso yet.

I bought a Kränzle K7 TS just before Christmas. I got it in from Germany for a lot cheaper than anywhere in Ireland or the U.K. The build quality of this machine, hoses and lances are at another level to other machines I’ve used/seen.

If you want to be able to wind a hose up though you’d want a Kränzle TST Version (the K7/K10 doesn’t come in this setup) or get a wall mounted hose reel. Check them out, they’re not cheap but worth it.

I got my Kranzle 1050 TS from the North, Next day delivery.
If you want to roll the hose up you need to go for the next one up at least 1050 TST,

£428 for the TS

£504 for the TST

IF I were to find a gripe with it, it would the no swivel connection on the hose, this is modifyable though.

No, from mersch-reinigungstechnik.de. They won’t send direct to Ireland but there are ways around that. They were excellent to deal with and I’d recommend them.

You can forget about your LSP with that. It probably won’t damage your clear coat unless you keep it on one spot for a long time.

Actually, I just remembered and I should clarify about the German seller I mentioned above. They won’t send pressure washers direct to Ireland but they will send lances, hoses and other accessories.

I must actually get one myself.
I'd suggest a quick connector for the snow foam lance or a water filter for your PW (13310 or 133003) or the underbody lance - if compatible with the K1050.

Just be careful as some bits seem to be meant for the K1050 only so must be different from other bits. It normally says it on the page as to what it's compatible with.

Is true that APC is quite ineffective as an alloy wheel cleaner ? Apparently it's useless at breaking down brake dust ?

I realise I can use a fallout remover but wouldn't be using it for every wash. I read that some alloy wheel cleaners are bad for certain wheels like diamond cut, not that mine are but still I'd prefer something that's good for all types.

It depends on whether or not you want a touchless wash. If you're going to use a wheel brush then I don't see how using APC will be any different to car shampoo. If you want touchless then use a fallout remover and pressure washer.

I see. I probably would use a wheel brush most of the time and fallout every few washes.

Any non fallout wheel cleaners you'd recommend or just stick with shampoo ?

I've been exclusively using Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel since about 2014 so haven't a clue as to what else is on the market.

Don't go near Turtle Wax Wheel Cleaner. It may as well be pure acid. I used use Meguiars Wheel Brightener which was good but the last iteration of it I used didn't foam too well which made me change.

Ordered 5 litres of Surfex HD on Amazon Prime earlier for £18 though I did alright considering most places sell 1 litre for €12-€13.

Being eyeing up the Nilfisk E145 or the K5 Compact. Argos UK are selling the E145 for £250 but I'd obviously have to wait till there back opened.

Was also looking at the cheaper C135. Anyone any experience with them ? Kind of want to keep the price down but stay away from anything with a plastic pump if possible.

Never had a bit of trouble from my nilfisk, found the original lance to be too long for my liking so change it for a quick release stubby lance

So I'm no expert but I've the c130 and it's perfect for the car. I read somewhere that to powerful a washer can damage paint. I've my nilfisk since 2013 and no issues

Works fine with snow foam lance ? I've heard some can be too weak and the lances don't work well on anything under 130 bar.

What are you lads using to remove slight scratches from the instrument cluster glass(which is actually plastic). Also, any recommendations for a glass cleaner?

After having my K5 for a number of years I made the switch to the K7 last Friday. It's an incredible machine especially with the Full Control Plus 3 in 1 lance which means you just twist it to get the different spray settings rather than having to swap the attachment. Power is much better also, foam lance performs better also. The high pressure hose is on a drum which normally I don't like but on this it's very easily wound back and doesn't kink or go arse-ways as is my experience with these things.

The one negative about it is that it doesn't have a hook for the power cable which my K5 does. On something at this price point it's the least you'd expect. There is however a storage compartment at the back of the machine that can hold the cable but it's awkward as you have to squeeze the cable to get it to fit in.
