I believe it's so you're not forced to sit the rescheduled summer date. I say we'll get our money by cheque with a letter of the rescheduled dates and we can just post back if we want the new dates.

They will try to have sitting for exams for enrolling into black hall in sept but can’t say when.

Im deferring because I cannot mentally concentrate on an exam for tomorrow, I am frustrated beyond belief and feel I am making the wrong decision no matter what I do. This should not have been our decision to make.

Exposing ourselves to a mass gathering a risk we’ve been advised not to take. I’m not risking my families members welfare for an exam that will be rescheduled for a couple of weeks. It’s only an exam. We’re ready to go. A little bit every weekend until the next one and we’ll be flying.

I am leaning towards sitting EU tomorrow, my logic is I've already been in that exam hall this week so likely already exposed if it was there. I won't get the holidays back from work if i dont sit either.

My study has been badly affected though and I already wasn't feeling confident about this exam . I hate that it's been left up to us but I'm finding it really difficult to consider not going given all the time and money I've given up for it already

She guaranteed there will be a sitting once the corna virus allows for it - I suppose once the country isn’t on total lock down she meant

Other side to that coin is that you might already be exposed, turn up and pass it to someone who previously was not. Just playing devil's advocate, sorry.

Same. It's like we've put most of the work in already. But do we really want to find out we have underlying health issues when we get ill with covid19... Or one of our loved ones/community

Shame on the Law Society for leaving this decision to us, none of us are thinking straight how are we meant to make a decision as important as this without a clear mind, my blood is boiling

Not sitting EU or Tort, but I'm not in blackhall until 2021 so there isn't the same pressure. Just don't see the risk, even having already been there already - disobeying full government advice for little upside, I just don't see the point.

True but it's an unprecedented situation and they don't know how long until the threat is over so I'm not surprised they won't confirm a date, can't blame them on that front, just on everything else

To be fair to them, it is unlikely they would be able to answer that today. I would imagine it will be rescheduled for as soon as is practicable. April, possibly May depending on how this thing pans out.

It's everyone's individual call, but I'm deferring EU. As others have said, I might be fine if I catch it but I'm uncomfortable with taking the risk of passing it onto someone less fortunate. Also with all the palaver I just wouldn't be in the right headspace to sit it tomorrow!

There's also that worry that I'll probably fail it now due to the stress/lack of concentration so what's even the point ðŸ˜‚

I'm deferring EU tomorrow and sitting Tort on Monday provided the Law Society are going ahead with it.

My logic is that I didn't get a good days revision today on EU and it's (apparently) one of the easier exams so I'm alright with having to sit it in the Summer or whenever. Will just stay away from the mother from Monday onwards.

On the other hand, if Tort is cancelled on Monday idk if I'll get the necessary holiday days to study for BOTH Tort and EU before the next sitting.

I've contacted my job and I am going back from leave early. So will still have leave to take if/when they are rescheduled.

For me it will be one exam, not two. I crammed all of them previously with only a day or two off before, will just have to do it again.

For me, we have been asked not to attend mass gatherings. Less than 100 in the room on the day. Still a lot more than that milling around the venue before hand.

Surprised the Red Cow not considering this and making the call on behalf of the Law Society.
"You are bringing how many in total here? Nah sorry lads. We have other clients to consider as well."

I don't have time to read previous replies but just fyi I asked the law society when they were thinking of the resits and they responded and said in time for PPC1 2020 (subject to corona virus prevalence of course).

I would have imagined they'd have some sort of guidelines though to prepare if there ever was a need to cancel, even just a rough idea of a month they'd like to aim for so that it might be possible before the October sitting - because there's many people for the good of their careers who can't take that next sitting either way, y'know?
