What are people covering for Equity?

I've been covering everything so far but I'm thinking about cutting Purpose/Charitable Trusts.

My thinking is that if I am covering the entire course I can answer all 8 Q's, obviously I don't need that. Charitable Trusts is likely to come up but only 1 Q so I'm still good for probably 7 Q's. Therefore I can cut out one of the biggest topics with no issue, right?

It's taking me ages to cover everything so cutting out 1 big topic would help quite a bit.

I could cut injunctions instead but I kind of like that topic, charitable trusts annoys me for some reason.

Of all things to cut out, do not cut out Charities - it's what the examiner specialises in in her day-today career, she always asks it. While there's a decent amount of material in it between the nominal topic and the cypres doctrine, it is pretty easy to follow. If I were you the ones I would look out are any of the less likely trusts one that came up last sitting, for example quistclose.

I know it's a guaranteed question but I'm looking at a grid of the last 14 sittings here and it has only ever once up once per paper, occasionally it will be a part of the note question as well. I do take your point though, it's nice having a guaranteed question in the bank.

i think with any of the exams, one topic can be cut if your bases are well covered elsewhere so don't stress. we all have topics that suit us better than others.

I got the letter today exams will b in the Neptune stadium not my favourite choice but better than going to Dublin.

Does anyone have sample answers or even some advice for EQUITY?

I’m struggling so much to make any sense of it at all! I always hated it in college and dreaded studying it now so I’m quite desperate for anything that could help!

The examiner's reports for Criminal are really detailed - do we really have to list the requirements for the offences in the level of detail they do? I presume not but thought it better to ask than get a nasty surprise whenever results come out

I'm studying it now myself and I'm reasonably sure he is just giving that level of detail as a guidance so people understand the correct approwch. I can't imagine he would expect anyone to reem off such long quotes from judges!

I can send you a grid if you like but it is only updated to March 2018 so it's not ideal.

From what I can remember if you cover Bail/Arrest/Detention you are guaranteed a question.

If you have everything else covered you are definitely sound.

If you have Sexual Offences/Homicide/Non Fatal/Property and Defences you are pretty much sorted.

BAIL would be the most imp
Classifications has been on the last 2 papers
Bail wasn't up last paper from memory

Depends where you're coming from. If you can get a train I'd do that and just get a taxi up to the 'stadium' which is effectively a school gym btw.

Also predictions for Equity anyone? I haven't covered purpose trusts, Tracing, and resulting trusts, presumption of advancement and satisfaction but everything else, is that enough or should i cover another one of the above
