FWIW Brian, I am a company director (Catmaniac the mod can/will confirm this for you). I hold 2 Business Masters (incl. an MBA where finance and taxation are core modules), and an additional 5 Post Grads in various business subjects. I would wager I know far more about this subject than you.

I acknowledge that there are great advantages in terms of pension contributions but these are available to any plumber or tiler or electrician who operates through a limited company. Would these also be operating some great con on the tax paying public?

Au contraire, I very rarely ever mention it, I would guess less than 5 times in 25,000+ posts in radio - but you’re welcome to prove me wrong by searching through them.
