Lidl have a 24L 2.45HP Compressor for sale on Thursday for €99.99. They have been selling these for several years and has anyone here ever bought one?

Yesterday it took me around 10-15 mins to pump the tyre of my classic which was stone flat. I have a 12v Cigar lighter charger I bought in Halfords around 15 years ago but to be honest it is almost useless and yes it will get you pumped up in an emergency and I carry it in my regular car since I started driving although never had to use it once at the side of the road.

I'm thinking to buy this Lidl compressor as I like to to give one of our cars a shot of air (if needed) before a long journey or if you noticed them going down a little. I'm a 5 car household, plus a tractor and quad, my local petrol station got rid of their air also and most garages either charge for air now or got rid of it. I just know one forecourt in Tralee for example doing free air now.

My main use would be for to pump a car, van or a tractor tyre in the vintage tractor (MF135) once in a blue moon. The airgun would be handy for blowing stuff too, eg. leaves from under the bonnet etc.

Lidl have a bigger 50L version for €149.99 also but it seems marketed towards the DIY spray painter, something I have zero intention of doing ever.

For €99.99 and €9.99 and 3 years warranty I'm thinking of buying it. Any opinions or ideas on it?

We've had one for a few years and no bother with it. Only slight issue was the air filter rattled loose but easily fixed with an extra nut, could have used a lock nut put we didn't have any handy.

Save yourself the €10 on the extended warranty as they are a scam and our consumer law has better protection.

I don't think Lidl are offering extended warranty as a separate product for 9.99.

I meant €9.99 for the accessory kit, the 3 year warranty is included in the €99.99 for the compressor itself.

I would say buy it.
I’ve one now for a number of years for pumping tyres etc and works a treat. I would say its more noisy than a bigger one we have on the farm though. I even sprayed the MF 35 one year with it no bother .

We are using one of these on the camper build. It will do basic jobs no problem but isn’t up to heavy usage or tools that need decent pressure.

Some of the air accessories we got from Lidl have been very poor too. We’ve gone through 3 air reels.
Compressor itself has been faultless though.

So i bought this today, For the price paid I am very satisfied and it does exactly what I wanted, inflate car tyres fast.

The airnozzles for pumping the tyres is OK but it wouldn't last long in continuous use in a tyre centre for example.

It takes around 2-3mins to fill the compressor barrel with air at 10 bar/150psi and the pump will kick in as the pressure drops when you are inflating. You will probably have to pause once or twice to pump a lorry or small tractor tyre to allow pressure to rebuild due to the small tank but its a pure dream compared to my 12v cigar charger pump. The pressure gauge is accurate enough also as I compared it with my digital pressure gauge. Its not too heavy and mobile on wheels so you can move it as required. There seems to be a golden rule that if a tractor is left sitting idle for a while that its battery will be gone flat and nearly always one wheel is on the rim.

I checked my mothers car and discovered one tyre to be 15psi when 32 psi is recommended so gave it the first trial run and it worked lovely. I later took the valve out of an old wheel to flatten it and pumped it back up with the Lidl compressor again no bother. The vast majority of filling stations have either got rid of their air, are out of order or the nozzle was stolen, or else they are now charging for air at €1-€2 a pop. Its rare to find free air in good working order or else you might have to go into the shop for the nozzle and gauge etc.

I bought the 50 litre version this evening in Lidl. To be honest for the price it's hard to look past it. It will get general workshop use but not overly often. Got the impact gun to go with it. I'm usually one for trying to buy quality tools, but only for stuff that I heavily use. Delighted I saw this post as I hadn't noticed the specials this week!

I have one of them for years. It's fantastically handy to have it for pumping tyres. Throughput is too low for serious spraying etc.

(current model seems to be bit bigger)

Must say I found impact guns that Lidl sell are just dangerous if use it to tighten wheels nuts with (If you Forgot to double check them with a torque wrench

It's more for speed, not for serious tightening etc.. I intent to 'break' nuts with the bar and then whip them off with the gun. Been changing tractor wheels for years with only a bar, so mostly a little luxury, and if it's rubbish.. it was only 18 quid..
