Maybe it's a generational thing, but the VI and VIII are my favourite. I've no doubt this will be worth 30k, just not in the next decade.

5K for a Toyota Sprinter. These things look like old skool refugee cars, seen a red one of these regularly going around D14 not too long ago. I didn't think much of it, just looked like a shed even though it looked in ok cosmetic condition. They would be lucky if they got 1k for it imo. Alot of people like to put deep dished wheels on an old banger, then they think they are worth a fortune...

I wouldn't be caught driving this particular Toyota, think they look sh!te. So it's 30 years old and has classic status ? Who cares....

As these very drivable and reliable types of cars fall into the 56 euro tax bracket and biennial testing they are always going to rise in desirability and price.

I'd price the sprinter around the 2k mark personally myself.

With old jap cars, to warrant making an effort to actually put them on the road and drive them, I feel there has to be something desirable about them, some sort of aesthetic beauty and performance should behold it. I just don't see it in this thing. The 56 snots a years is the only desirable thing about it.

Na horses for courses and all that.

There's millions of enthusiasts world wide that love boxy jap styling from the 80's and early 90's regardless of whether it's a rwd turbo straight 6 beast or a little fwd 4 cylinder. It's just the love of that retro styling. Kinda like how some people like Casio digital watches.

5k desirable it ain't, but it's definitely got some level of desirability nonetheless.

Nice clean engine. I appreciate cars with clean engine compartments. Wouldn't pay anywhere near that for it though. They have too much of a taxi stigma for me to. I love the look of the newer shape E class after this model though

Those mercs are being hoovered up for the banger tracks. There'll come a time when they're the next mk2 Granada. 3k isn't an outrageous price although I wouldn't pay it.
While it's priced high, there may be room for haggling. It's not like they're looking for 10k.

This one is low mileage.
They are desirable atm, however for 30K i'd be expecting something like IX MR or at least a VIII MR.

I think that Kerry e30 is on or very close to the right money. A friend of mine bought an e30 320i with a 2.8(?) conversion around 6 years ago for that money, was a fairly tidy car too.

Definitely, sure I've resprayed about 5 cars at this stage. As soon as the car hit's 15 years old it's straight onto the panel beater to arrange a time to get work done on the body and a respray.

Jokes aside, not really. If it was a rare car then yes you may completely overhaul a car but that would cost big bucks. Windows out subframe dropped, engine out, engine and gearbox overhauled, rust taking care of. But the car would usually be a lot older than 15 years to get that type of work done.

Ye a genuine sport you'll struggle to get one in any sort if restorable condition for under 10k. Door and a backbox would be the absolute least of your worries if your looking at buying a cheap one of these.
