The press is saying that it had a "tail like a scorpion". Which is not entirely true as the telson is the scorpion's stinger, and the tail is actually the last segments of the abdomen (metasoma).
For spiders that actually have an elongated abdomen (and even curve it as if to mimic a scorpion when threatened), there's modern day Arachnura species :B

Fossil spider Mongolarachne chaoyangensis, announced earlier this year, turns out to be a doctored, badly preserved crayfish fossil, with spider legs painted on:

The specimen was assigned to genus Mongolarachne, which now goes back to including only one species, M. jurassica (originally described as Nephila jurassica). M. jurassica had a legspan of about 8.6 cm, with the female being slightly larger and above all more robust than the male:
