N25/N30 - New Ross Bypass [open to traffic]

This week's local papers have the listings of CPO's for the New Ross bypass so some relief in prospect at the bridge in town.

Are their any images of the new river crossing available? I'm told it will be the highest bridge in Ireland. True? Where it's due to join the Waterford road at Glenmore is certainly a high point.

It would be nice if they allowed some pedestrian access between the official opening and actual opening. I'd also drive down for that.

Heard on site today that theres some form of plan being formulated for a charity 5k walk / run event on the Sunday before the opening. Wexford County Council is involved along with the contractors with some form of online registration being suggested and limited to the first 1,000. Talk of local athletic clubs maybe involved as well. Nothing in writing yet but it's all supposed to be ready to go shortly.

A truck broke down on O'Hanrahan bridge at 5pm this evening causing tailbacks on the Waterford road and of course all others directions as well in town.
So really looking forward to this day

Very unlikely that the public will be allowed to attend. It will be politicians, invited public figures and the press.

No idea, plenty of parking along the dual carriageway so it's not that. I can only guess Health and Safety reasons, number of stewards needed etc. I did hear that the participants won't be allowed near the railings of the bridge during the event and that the hard shoulder/ plinth areas on the bridge will be coned off due to the numbers of children taking part.
