Xbox Game Pass

Seems MS are starting their own EA Access style subscription services which will give you access to over 100 games, a 20% discount on games and 10% off dlc for titles currently on the Game Pass. Seems interesting but the wording makes it look like games will be rotated instead of being on the Game Pass permanently.

Has anyone downloaded PES2020? Is it the full version? I downloaded it and it says Lite version and it is only the demo i got when i look at the game pass screen it says standard is installed

I downloaded it and it's the full game. My xbox also downloaded an encryption key so maybe that has something to do with it.

I took a look at the standard edition on xbox.com, and it's a bundle that includes an "activation key". You should just be able to download the activation key here. No need to delete/reinstall anything.

There's also a bonus here.

Sorry folks I’ve kind of asked before but I’m still confused! My son has just upgraded to an Xbox one, I signed him up to the 3 month deal of ultimate for €1 and it looks like a great package with the amount of games you can play, Ive read here before about the deal you guys have gotten by buying the gold package and upgrading the whole lot to ultimate for €1. Can I still do this or have I messed it up by already signing up?

You can still do this I believe. But you will have to be on an account that already has the Gold / Game Pass activated then upgrade to Ultimate. It combines up to a max of 2 years (maybe 3, can't remember) so if there is 1 month gold 6 months game pass when upgrading to ultimate you'll get 10 months Ultimate (1+6+3)

Cheers hopefully I can, i can see the ultimate on cdkeys for around €16 for 3 months so I’m not sure if there is better deals than that as that sounds like a great price already

There's so much it's hard to say without knowing what types of game you like but my personal favourites are:
Ori and the Blind Forest, one of the best games this gen imo.
Sunset Overdrive, takes a bit of getting into but once you get the upgrades it's great fun.
Quantum Break, a very good game but one of the worst final bosses ever.
MGS V: The Phantom Pain, another of my personal favourites but I like MGS anyway.
The Witcher 3, a great game that you could put a lot of time into.
Dead Cells, very addictive and difficult.
Forza Horizon 4 and DiRT Rally 2.0 for very different driving games.
PES2020 if you like football games.
Middle-earth games are very good.
The Outer Worlds is good too.

And I haven't even mentioned Halo, Gears, Tomb Raider, Fable, Metro or Wolfenstein games.

Thanks Dor. Just had a quick look at your list and what's on Game Pass. I'm a very casual gamer, so it's usually a sports game or the odd Call of Duty or Battlefield, something along those lines.
I am a Fifa man when it comes to football games, but I've heard PES2020 is meant to be very good, so will check that out. I own a physical copy of Forza. I haven't played Doom, so will try that. I had been thinking of buying Ashes Cricket, but seeing as it's on Game Pass, I will try that too. I don't think I've played any of Halo games!!! I own Gears of War 4 and just couldn't grow to like it, as much as I tried to

I've always been more of a FIFA player but the last couple of years PES has been better imo, not that I'm any good at either. Sunset Overdrive is a lot of fun, Dead Rising 4 is also mindless fun and I enjoyed Crackdown 3, not an amazing game but fun.

Yeah, you signed up for GPU. It would have worked out cheaper to stack some years of Gold before converting to GPU though.

As long as the console that the second account uses is set as the primary for the account with GPU.

It will convert, but you will only get something like 16 days GPU per month added.

If you wait until the current GPU sub lapses(turn off auto renew) I think you can stack and then convert, you will have to pay full price for a month of GPU though.

Cheers yep they are both only used on the same Xbox one and nothing else, really impressed with the gpu deal, even at full price it seems well worth it

If you're a casual gamer with only short bursts of gaming time available - Human Fall Flat is worth a go (especially if you have someone to play couch co op with). Another one to blast through is Untitled Goose Game: It's as surreal as the name suggests, but good for a laugh.

Neither of them are anything to look at, and I would never have played them except for GPU

So, I have just renewed my xbox live gold subscription for another 12 months. Am I right in thinking, if I upgrade it now to Ultimate, my remaining 12 months of my current gold subscription get converted to Ultimate, so I effectively pay nothing more then what I have already done for 12 months of Ultimate? Then I can downgrade back to Gold in Feb 2021? Or am I missing something.

That is correct. You can add up to 36 months and convert. I would suggest about 30 as you will get 3 months converting to GPU, 4 if you turn on auto renew when prompted.

Why are people stacking so much, is it a limited offer? Is there no cost to upgrade from gold to ultimate?

You can get a year of gold for about €45, GPU is €17 a month. The only cost to upgrade from Gold to GPU is a 1 month GPU sub, there is currently an offer giving you 3 months of GPU for €1.

Ah ok I’m slowly getting this now! So I have the 3 month ultimate for €1 at the moment, do I need to wait for that to expire and then stack some gold?
