My brother has a habbit of getting a little too drunk the night before, drinking several cans of energy drinks the next morning, and walking around farting all day. (the type that would cause a pilot to turn around mid flight) It's vile. We're all adults. Yet he still manages to gross everyone out all day long.

He then gets wrecked and goes for a nap after dinner, and we (the entire rest of the family, 10+) can finally relax.

Not only do they ruin the Christmas of their own family, but spare a thought for the unfortunate Gardai that have to work Christmas day and deal with their bull****.

That, sadly is far more common than you'd expect. Think they released stats on it a while back and by far the highest time for domestic related incidents was around Christmas.

Having worked taking calls from Gardai on Christmas Day the past two Christmases most of our incidents were domestics, and about 99% of them alcohol related

Sitting in Amsterdam on the way home for Christmas after working in South America for the past month. Seeing expressions of joy and feel the excitement in the air as people head home for Crimbo.

Not so long ago I nearly broke down. Feel like the lonliest person in the world. I know when I arrive home my mother will be drunk as hell and abusive to myself and the siblings. Her drunken abuse drove my father to suicide some years back. There is no love or warmth in the home.

Actually I feel homeless right now. Being a single male and a **** property market means I'm finding it difficult to get my own place.

its when some horrible person takes them out of a freshly opened box.
i was down at a neighbours a few nights ago and as soon as a box came out her friend procedded to ter through the box and take them all for herself . neighbour and myself looked at each other in disbalief. .

Our local supermarket put the wrong sign out the other day, instead of Grocery Opening Hours they put out the Off Licence hours with the Grocery hours times. There was a horrible American woman who forced a shop assistant to go outside with her and was literally hitting the sign pointing out that it said she could buy alcohol at 7am and really laying into her about not being able to buy her alcohol at 9.30am. I don't know what she thought would happen, the poor shop assistant could do nothing about it. Must be a heavy drinker.

That reminds me of the time decades ago when my late mother gifted a pottery spoon rest (cheapest item in shop) to her very stingy wealthy cousin, who used to do occasional entertaining so Mum thought it was harmless & useful. A week later my mother’s sister was on the phone, saying that for once she got something half useful if uninspired, a spoon rest, from their tight-pocketed cousin who more commonly passed on strings of old fat beads she had done with!

I worked in retail for years and December really does bring out the arseholes. I genuinely feel that shops should be shut on the 26th December as staff are worn out from a month of dealing with obnoxious arseholes, they're working Christmas eve so when they get home they're exhausted and then Christmas night they're setting the alarm clocks again so that they can deal with people wanting to buy more crap but happy to trample the other people who are queuing up to buy more crap that they don't need.

I've never understood the people from China and Japan and further afield who travel to Britain to buy luxury designer handbags in the sales, even though they still have a 4 figure price tag, the flights and accommodation can't be cheap.
