Weekend 7/12 (Joshua v Ruiz II, Charlo v Hogan, Eubank v Korobov etc)

I really think everything is set up for Joshua to win on points. Luis Pabon is a referee notorious for allowing holding, the ring is apparently 22ft which is bigger than UK ruling allows, Steve Gray is a judge and is notoriously kind to Hearn fighters.

All Joshua needs to do is jab on the outside and hold on the inside, stay on his feet and he'll win. I do think Ruiz is all wrong for him but it's a big task for Ruiz going in knowing he'll need the KO. People say Ruiz was beating Joshua up for multiple rounds last fight but he was beating up a concussed Joshua for multiple rounds. There's a big difference. As long as Joshua keeps his wits about him, stays on his feet and doesn't fight with Ruiz in the pocket he should win.

Big fight for Dennis Hogan tonight too fighting Jermall Charlo in NY. Moving up in weight so big ask for him but he fought very well against Munguia and I'm not convinced the Charlo's are all that. Struggle to see Hogan winning but should give a good account of himself.

Joshua is Frank Bruno level.
Ruiz May get a rematch and sadly it’ll sell.
Wilder would knock the two of these out together.
Fury would dance around two of them in the same ring for twelve rounds.

Its going to be a very underrated performance by the public. Joshua was superb tonight. The conditioning required to fight like that, at that weight, for 12 rounds is unreal. A boxing masterclass. It can sometimes be unfortunate for viewers that great boxing can be less than great entertainment.

Fair play they found a ways to beat Ruiz, but hardly a performance the get excited about.

Ruiz was too fat. That extra 20 pounds was the difference in him being able to close the distance vs not being able to.

Joshua can go back to dodging real fighters for another 2 years.

Absolutely clinical from AJ, only way I thought he could win the fight and the challenge was whether he could stick to that plan for the whole fight or would he get sucked into a war.

Thrilled for him. Utter domination.

The conditioning to keep that up for 12 rounds controlling it from the outside. Super performance, won't get the plaudits some of his other performances get but very possibly his best ever. Shown he can adapt too.

I watched the DAZN stream and Joshua was getting plenty of praise from the American commentators, they were mentioning the Brits tho.

Joshua fought a very disciplined fight IMO.
He kept Ruiz at distance, stayed behind his jab and kept Ruiz outside the hit range.
Ruiz was totally outboxed, yes he has faster hands and a better chin but heavy feet and poor ring skills.

AJ was very reminiscent of Sugar Ray v Haggler. Controlled the ring and avoided a brawl.

I suppose the commentary team have to sell the event so people pay their 27.50 next time. Disciplined and effective performance from Joshua and did what he should have done 6 months ago but you can't seriously call a one sided fight like that a masterclass. Ruiz is a bum and nothing more. Back to business now for Joshua and Eddie Hearn - the Joshua, Fury and Wilder triangle is back on. Hopefully.

The worry for Joshua is that any time they exchanged (which wasn’t often) he got rocked.

I’d be less confident of his chances against Fury and Wilder to be honest.
