Was mentioned here. A few replies.

Looks in good shape.
I'd be asking about the electrics (particularly the windows), and maybe the dashboard.

Would definitely ask directly if it suffers from warm starting issues, as although resolvable, the resolution is not ideal and the issue can cause a real headache.

Yeah, got a call out of the blue today from a chap looking to view. He'd been to see another that wasn't up to much so swung by, and I happened to be free.

He had a mate, a trailer, and cash, so a deal was made. He's going to do it up good I believe. Maybe not what I might have got if I'd played the waiting game, but more than I expected when I first decided to sell. Decided a bird in the hand, etc. Winter is here to stay and I really didn't want to have it sitting up all winter.

Need to fork out 560 quid VRT on the Alfa this week, too!

Chatted to one chap who subsequently made an offer, but too low for me to consider at this point. I tend to get impatient selling cars but willing to wait for the right buyer this time.

Another offer on Adverts, but you never know whether that's just an offer to come and view and haggle some more.

Yeah I saw that red one. It was only over the road from me. Seemed decent value if indeed that was all that was wrong with it.

I’ll PM you with info on the white one I had. It had a lot of interest. I must have had 15 calls in twelve hours. First person to see took it.

It looked spotless, interior was in excellent nick, apparently it had been in dry storage for the last few years and just needed the starter unstuck...didn't last much longer than an hour on the net, at €1250! Unfortunately, so.

I don't have anywhere to keep it, and laying it up outside would do it no good. She's a great driver, and once sorted, needs to be driven.

Oops, something fell into my basket.
I had myself a roadtrip.

The longest of my kids (and his mates) are starting to outgrow the space in the back of the 924. It's all gone a bit budget airline with knees banging on the back of the front seats.

Though they are all displeased that I'm thinking of selling.

Ah yeah, the Brera back seats are only there for a laugh.

Well, if VAT and customs come into play, everything coming in from the UK could be significantly pricier. Nobody knows!

I did look at Breras. Another Alfa that's beautiful, rare and interesting. Just that bit pricer to buy and run. Also, a 159 would allow me to fit three younglings in the back and not have to drive the Grand Picasso at weekends. :P

Funny enough D I was talking with my friend earlier today about his two Alfa Breras(drives one, is restoring the other) and I thought of you considering the 159. TBH if for some reason I ended up on Shank's pony in the morning I would be seriously tempted to get a Brera as my daily.

Totally forgot about Brexit D and how it might affect yet another aspect of life here. I have a couple of relatives and friends into their classics to one degree or other and they have gotten cars and especially spares from similar enthusiasts in the UK. I suppose it won't hit the classic folks too much, or at least the over 30 years old car folks. I can see it hitting the more "modern classic" scene. Granted I ended up in a modern classic completely by mistake, but down the years I've gotten a few bits and bobs from the UK, though to be fair they were mostly small items, or "just in case" stuff for the future.

Impending Brexit has also got my skates on to bring something in. To listen in the motors forum people seem to think the import situation post-Brexit will be so compromised that'll we'll be stuck buying from cars already in Ireland.

Sorry to hear about your 924, but considering your needs I can well understand. A friend of mine had one of those Alfas and it was to me anyway a very nice car, "modern" but not if you know what I mean. It gave him no trouble either. I know he regretted selling it. Lovely looking car too.

I don’t think the Skoda will help with my Classic Cold Turkey!

Jaysus, you won't know yourself in something like that after 10 years daily driving a 924.

Octavia VRS 2.0 TDI are lovely too, and a nice change - like the 159 - from from the ubiquitous A4/320d.
