They say when a woman changes her partner or career she changes her hairstyle. Not sure if this is actually true. Obviously for guys this is probably not the case but I have been toying with the idea of growing my hair longish - something I haven’t done since the 1990s.
No real reason, just after 20 years of a similar style - blade 1.5 back and sides, short on top and a bit of a wave at the front I’d like a bit of a change.
I had long - shoulder length and longer - hair in the 1990s when I was a student in college. Long hair for young lads was rather in vogue at the time because of grunge music and also the general hard rock/metal scene I was very into at the time.
Got it cut short in 1999 as I looked for my first proper "career" job. I also grow a beard/goatee most winters and shave it off around Feb/March. Having long hair and a goatee in my early 20s also made me look older so rarely did I have problems being asked for ID in bars and nightclubs, and I looked young for my age back then. It was a complete b*tch to condition properly as it got very tangled after washing!!

I've had my hair short for 20 years now, there is a lot of grey in it the past few years - a "salt and pepper look" which a lot of people tell me looks good. I have thought of growing it into a "long short" layered style reminiscent of the late 1970s but my OH wouldn't be too keen!
So anyone else here on AH thinking of changing their hairstyle? Got long hair and thinking of cutting is shorter? Or thinking of growing it out? Or changing your hair colour?
