No they moved Berlin, Beauvais was cut.

Neither Kerry or Beauvais is a base, so that would be virtually impossible to operate.

You are correct. I got that mixed up. I still don't thing that load factors were the reason they pulled SNN - BVA though (or moved Berlin).

This is a good start, a nice destination with only Dublin for competition.

Any idea how much this will have cost them ?

Hop would be an ideal carrier for CDG but the challenge is they fly from Cork currently

Transavia France another option for Orly but they're not in expansion mode at all

Also Vienna is a prime destination for xmas markets..hopefully the initial schedule will be extended beyond October 2020

It's a pity the service ends in Oct as it's one of the best Christmas markets. Not a bad destination and easy to get to Prague from Vienna too. Hopefully the airport ups their game in promoting this new route. Supporters of the airport too could do a small bit too and share the news on their social media. As it not traditional ryanair/air lingus it's easy for people to forget the service is there

Honestly don't have much of a problem with this. Anything that offers more choice is to be welcomed.

Have lauda had charters on this route in recent years, I think they might and the route is relatively proven

According to a member of the SNN group on Facebook, CDG and BCN are to be announced next Wednesday at the launch of the EI S20 Shannon schedule. Not confirmed

Shannon Group welcomes Minister’s visit (Clare Herald)

Shannon Group has welcomed the engagement with Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Shane Ross during his visit to the region.

During his visit, Minister Ross was given an update on Shannon Group’s businesses – Shannon Airport, Shannon Commercial Properties and Shannon Heritage along with the work being undertaken by the International Aviation Services Centre (IASC) which supports the growing aviation cluster at Shannon.

Would guarantee it's referring to VIE.

As for the two rumoured EI routes yes EI do well on ORK-BCN but adding SNN-CDG again combined with AF doubting of freq at ORK.

EI will struggle and if funded by this fund will immediately drop unless (unlikely) they might make SNN work long term but get pushed out of Cork with AF. This failed before at SNN for them.

Its likely this flight is going to interline with connections to JFK and BOS which your not taking into account either. If EI knew they were going to struggle in any way theres not a hope they'd come near Shannon.

SNN-CDG operated shortly after AF left. Granted different times but not exactly a ringing endorsement.

How? Itll be operated by the freed up A320 or either one of the LRs which would make it over and back in plenty of time. Im hearing the BOS flight will be moved to a 13:00 dep to facilitate this.
