Limp mode keeps coming back - VW

Took my VW caddy 1.9tdi 2007 to get the EML diagnosed and it was in limp mode.

The code was for the boost pressure solinoid which was replaced and all was good for and hour until limp mode came back after I turned the engine off.

The mechanic cancelled the light again and the same story again all was good followed by limp mode.

He read the codes again and I've attached a picture of the latest codes the diagnostic computer gave.

*The engine has more power

*When I floor it for a while limp mode comes back

*When I turn off/on the ignition while moving limp mode goes away until the engine is switched off or I floor the ACC for a while.

*Any ideas lads, I have the old boost solinoid alsom

For your info ( in case that you are still reading this ) I bought a 2003 A6-C5, and did a bit of research on the engines...the above result is what you see,,,actually that same research came up with the 2T Oil as a possible solution for my limp home problem, ( it worked ) and the Injector Loom / harness problem being the cause of the mis-firing, which also worked

The thing with 2t oil is that unlike 4t engines the exhaust has to exit via a hole in the side of the cylinder, funnily enough known as the exhaust port.
Over time the hot gases and carbon build up in the port causing it to change shape which has the effect in a two stroke of changing the engine timing due to the pistons ability to open and close the port at various different heights.
To combat this phenomenon a lot of 2t oils are designed have an anti coking/fouling property to stop this occurence, using a little 2t oil in a diesel with an overboost problem due to fouled turbo vanes not being able to move can help with the lubing and decoking of the vanes.
Calling someone out for using 2t oil because you don't understand the properties of 2t oil is not the answer.
In short many 2t oils are very good at removing oil deposits from diesel engines because they are designed to do that exact job in a different type of engine.

Thank you, CJ, thats as good an explanation as I have heard for describing the beneficial effects of using 2T oil in a diesel engine..It has certainly worked for me, and I'm not the only one.:D:D:D

I used to use it in a Honda Accord 2.2 ICTDI and a Landcruiser 1KZ-TE before that no issues and the Landcruiser is still working fine at 350k miles so I doubt it is harmful, the only thing that is stopping me using it in my IDTEC is the DPF. but that might not be an issue for much longer.

Yes the DPF is what is stopping me from using it in my present car, MB W212 2.1, but I know some one who is,,and has been for a long time, with high mileage. But I'll wait a bit..car is running fine now in any case. If you find out that it works in DPF engines, please let me know, Ok? Thank's.

I remember pulling an Artic, with a full loaded 40' trailer to get it started..only took a few metres of a pull to get it going. I drove them through rivers too, when the breather was needed to supply air to the engine.... Best all round 4 x 4 in the world INMO. Would trust my Life in one.

Not the cheapo 2T oil recommended by Tommy Cooper the comedian it'll coke her up worse than a steam locos boiler..

The Op doesn't have a misfiring problem, cheap strimmer oil won't fix hardened cables under the rocker cover.

A landcruiser? Why bother on one of the crudest diesels going, not that there's anything wrong with them but 2T oil won't make a blind bit of difference to it's longevity.

No I guess it wont fix the harness problem.....especially since it goes in the fuel tank.....not in the engine oil.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Not true...been using it for years, same as CJ Haughey...no problem. All 2T oil has to do the same job. I buy mine in the local Farmers co-op.:D:D:D

Yeah, but he didn't say it assuming it went into the engine oil. It was just stating it's unrelated and wont fix it.

Question of interpretation so, and my interpretation of "cheap strimmer oil won't fix hardened cables under the rocker cover" is exactly what he said...I have already explained how I fixed the mis-firing in my 1.9.cheap.

Well, the boost sensor has been replaced and it's only on a short length of cable which if it was damaged would be easily spotted. Could be a dodgy earth but I don't think so as there would be other symptoms too.
