Men's 400 hurdles looks like it has potential to challenge WR but we don't know who will win, it's an amazing prospect!
Women's 400 hurdles could be same.

Women's 100 and 200 should be good, too tight to call.
Men's short sprints not as exciting but I think lyles could do something special.

Men's 800 looks open and we have Irish interest:)
1500 Jakob, how will he do in global champs.
Women's 1500 5k Hassan doubling, pity dibaba seems out wjth injury. Still enjoy watching Hassan run even if she is strong favourite. Hopefully Ciara has good meet.

Women's Hep should be good battle too.
And field events always throw up something interesting too.
Can't wait!

Saw this on Let's Run, Jackline Wambui, who ran 1:58 to win the Kenyan Championships, is out of worlds after refusing to take a testosterone test. Intriguingly, Seyni of Niger - who had been tipped as a potential medallist - has opted to run the 200m instead of the 400m. The IAAF's testosterone test only applies to 400m-1500m events. Must admit I wasn't looking forward to the inevitable sh*tstorm when Seyni won gold

If the genuine demand is there a tv station would show if. It’s not. Nobody gives a fook about track and field in Ireland..

Eurosport have it too. Far better coverage with better commentators.

In fairness the other sports generates income for rte, but athletics doesn't generate much to justify it.

I see lots of timetables online, but is there any way to print a modified one? Basically I'm trying to find one where I can edit out the field events

Could just print off the timetable and highlight the events I want to see but I'm sure there's an easier way.

I'd have Barr as best chance of winning a medal, and Ciara as best chance of final (12 places available for her versus 8 for Barr). Neither will be winning medals though. But both have a shot at making a final.

English to make the semi finals.

Healy and Finn to go out in heats.

Don't see anyone doing much out on the roads. Boyce and Wright probably a top 16 shot. Midnight races could throw the cat amongst the pidgeons though. Be interesting to see how athletes manage this.

Heard an Australian marathon runner interviewed on Marathon Talk, sounded like the marathon will be particularly bleak as it's starting very late at night local time.

Not surprised in the slightest. Was watching some clips from London today and the stadium was full every night with an electric atmosphere, it'll be quite the contrast.

Was always going to be the way. Absolute shocker bringing the championships to Doha. I've been to Daegu, Moscow, Beijing and London and all had good crowds and a great atmosphere. I'd worry that this will be more like Rio, which had a poor atmosphere except the nights Bolt ran.

The turnout next week will not be reflection on athletics as a sport. It will be a reflection on Qatar as a nation and a reflection of Lamime Diack and the legacy he has left the sport.

Athletics is coming off the back of the most successful ever World Championships (London) and the most successful ever European Championships (Berlin). Attendances at major championships are not an issue. This particular host is an issue.
