I wouldn’t believe anything Hamilton says, just because he said it. Of course he’d love a drive in Ferrari. But I seriously doubt he’s willing to give up a championship winning car in exchange for a Ferrari. He switched to Mercedes but he was switching from a McLaren that was going nowhere and losing ta works status, to go to Mercedes who had just spent massive money investing in the new engine regs and the team itself. Ferrari have shown they’re probably the worst value for money on the grid and can waste money like no other team that hasn’t gone bust. So I’d say he will wait until the Ferrari is actually better than the Mercedes over a season. If it happens next year, then he might well move in 2021. But there’s no way he’ll just risk it and jump to a slower Ferrari

It's more likely a case of Hamilton trying a new approach to get the tifosi to stop booing him. Only a complete doorknob would walk away from Mercedes right now to join Ferrari. Mercedes are operationally superior in every single way and the culture is one of repeated success. He doesn't need to leave, he can sit back and let Ferrari continue to sabotage their championship ambitions and count up the race wins
