Ya, even if the Curragh line could be widened with a hard shoulder, it would be a help. Such a bottleneck to get out of Galway, so dangerous for a straight stretch of road with nowhere to pull in, breakdowns etc..

The N51 Dunmoe Phase 2 scheme comprises the construction of approximately 4 km of single carriageway and associated ancillary and consequential works, including the provision of side roads, accommodation works/roads, junctions, from the townland of Blackcastle Demesne to the townlands of Cruicetown and Pighill in County Meath. An Oral Hearing was held on 12th July 2018 and An Bord Pleanala confirmed the CPO for the scheme in October 2018. Meath Co Co are currently progressing the final design and tender documents and intend to go to tender for this scheme in 2020.TII has provided an allocation to Meath Co. Co. of €150,000 for the scheme this year.

This scheme which is being developed by Donegal County Council in partnership with Transport Infrastructure Ireland consists of approximately 1.4Km and will include: The provision of a centre median over the schemes length with the inclusion of right turning lanes for the L11142 Bonagee Road and the L1094-1 Cullion Road. The provision of footpaths and cycle ways. The construction of a walkway/boardwalk for approx 100m adjacent to the River Swilly. The provision of signalised pedestrian crossings. Junction improvement works, pavement, signage and lining and other ancillary works.
