I thought someone said earlier in the thread that it was him. Wasn't there a newspaper article on this gun smuggling where it said he was involved in supplying fake tickets for a Liverpool game?

Yea - same guy. Dont know if any of the lurkers here know the Dublin GAA site reservoir dubs -well he stiffed them too!!

    Dirk is Wesley Brennan?

I saw Dirk being mentioned before as being Robert Keogh but I thought someone else knew he wasn't?

Had to laugh at the quote from the article

He said he was returning from Europe where he had "just been driving around".

I mean, it's possible they already had him targeted when the stopped him..............but surely you'd have a better story than that. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer

I'd be surprised if the the side who this threat has been made against are not wiped out before the year is gone (by wiped I mean 2 main chaps either shot or locked up).

Obviously not the sharpest tacks in the box. I’m sure the added Garda attention is bad for business and all for the sake of what seems like saving face or hard chaw syndrome.

Crosby might regret that phone call if the lads get a hold of him

That threat could come back to haunt them if one of their own side get lifted by their rivals.

Acid attacks have been happening in London for a few years now resulting in some horrific injuries where one victim commited suicide not long after. The judiciary handed out some hefty sentences to try and stem the tide. I haven't heard of this ghastly torture tactic in Ireland as of yet but it is a new low and a threat that must be taken seriously by that Crosbie lad before he ends up looking like sloth out of the Goonies.

Media saying it was Mark Ivers

    Which media? Link?

Would it be Price who has made the acid threat?

First car was Volkswagen Caddy , used to ram into the back of victims toyota.

Driven 3mins away to an estate close by then burnt out.

Hopped into second car which was a Vectra driven 6mins up the road then again burnt out.

Hopped into an Avensis which was driven all the way to Bray, over half an hours drive away - then burnt out.

Whats the thinking behind using several cars and burning out each one? Used to be always just the one car burnt out but recently gangs seemed to have upped it to two or three. Is it to evade being spotted by the Garda helicopter?

There was one such an attack here in April https://www.irishexaminer.com/breakingnews/ireland/i-thought-id-never-see-again-teen-waterford-liquid-attack-victim-920943.html

I'm pretty sure, but can't fully remember the details, either the 'male model' or somebody in his family had acid thrown at them but managed to dodge most of it.

They were in hospital for a while. I don't think it was related to drugs or money (but easily could have been seeing as he tried to leave the country with half a mill).

Was passing by the Coombe at about 8 this morn and the bus was diverted because of what looked like a crime scene sealed off. Any craic with that?

Not so much the helicopter, but slows down the pursuit. Unless there were direct eyes on them it's a smarter tactic of splitting up into different cars and burning them out in different areas.
It's also possible that one of the cars was not actually part of the "getaway", but was just set on fire as a decoy to use up more Garda resources.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,833 ✭✭✭✭Muahahaha

Ah that makes sense, especially the decoy bit. They could just get some kids to burn out a car in a specific location nearby to the hit at a set time. If the helicopter is in the air it would see the smoke quick enough and divert Garda units to it.

Who's to say this was everything. He could have 3 houses filled with similar. Serious dust regardless. Obviously had serious operation going on.
The biggest sign he was a dope is that be didn't quit when he had that kind of money. If he lived 5 lives he couldn't spend it.

It obviously wasn't the money that kept him there.

That's insane money. How can the Mexican Government justify letting an individual rack up that much cash illegally.

Absolutely. That is why i've been keenly following the Mexican drug wars on Borderland Beat over the last 10 years. You get a years supply of typical Dublin/Irish crime in half a day. Chalk and cheese. Different world. It is grotesque but captivating.

Some seriously sick individuals over there, beheading kids, massacring entire families. There is no line that won't be crossed. The lads we have here are tame in comparison thankfully.
