We spotted this while looking for alternative ideas. Wondering if others have done it and how did it work. Early stages but thinking of it instead of band and having she after.

Don't think it's a good alternative to a band. Gambling can be a minefield.

It was all the rage about 10-15 years ago.

I think it's past its sell by date.

Good music and a good table plan that allows people chat to each other is the best option.

One option I do like is a close up magician who can go from table to table during the night

Saying that a casino is past its sell by date.... but then suggesting kids entertainment to visit each table instead??

I'd guess not.

These guys would never grace a kids party, but you will see them at some of the top corporate events of some of the biggest multinationals that are in the country.

I've seen one of these guys at a wedding, he circulated around dinner between courses. It was pretty impressive stuff but that said, I'm not sure any of this stuff is a replacement for a good band.

I've also done the casino thing at corporate events and its grand but wouldn't be for me if I had to pay for it. Its a bit of fun but not wedding appropriate IMO and a bit naff.

Also could be a bit awkward if someone there has a gambling problem.

I certainly wouldn't replace the band with anything. (I should read the OP more closely)

A decent band can make a great wedding.

I had the velvet lounge (jazz) and it's still talked about 14 years later.

Ive read this a couple of times, I know people who hate gambling. I know people who wont gamble. not even a lotto ticket.

I love having a bet but at a wedding I want to drink pints and listen to/dance a bit to a band (and Dj later in the night). It would be a very weird wedding to be messing around with Casino games rather than have a band.

You could say the same about a bar and very few weddings don't have bars.

If it's just done with chips and no money involved then it could be a bit of fun, but there still needs to be other entertainment as no one will spend all day in a casino at a wedding. It'd be no worse than the other organised "fun" people have at their weddings.
