Alloys gone in to wheel wizards for a refurb. Gave me a set of spyders as replacement. Not something you'd see very often on the f10.

I'd say it is. I haven't looked into changing it. Any idea what category it's under? I presume Front Electronic Module > Instrument Cluster?

Busy few days. Changed out the shocks and springs on the jimny to give a small lift as the new wheels were rubbing. Glad I did, the old ones where in a sorry state indeed.

Is there any need for the lower spring mount to have a skewed spacer put in, to minimise the bend on the spring itself?

While over here in Cyprus went off-roading in a Vitara old old model 2001 1.6 petrol. I thought it would be useless but genuinely went up some seriously steep hills mainly lose gravel surface. Only thing is for the challenging bits you had to stick to 4WD low range as the engine didn’t have the torque required to go around in high range like modern diesel 4X4 would. It had off road tyres which helped. But I was well impressed by its off road abilities.

I drove it on the road normally a bit also the lack of A/C, electric windows and C/L quickly became fairly annoying funny how you take the basics for granted when your used to having them.

That bend in the spring shown is only because the axle was lowered as much as I could so I could get the longer spring in place. Once the wheels were put on and car lowered, the axle moves into natural position and no bend in the spring. There's some difference in the handling now. No jerky bouncy ride and the shocks are adjustable so I can stiffen or soften the ride to whatever i want.

I used to have the 2.0 diesel grand vitara back in the day for pulling a boat. They are a great off roader and I never once got into trouble on soft sand compared to the golf I had before that. But the little jimny is amazing off road because its so light and doesn't get bogged down like the bigger 4x4s such as the defender and pajero. Doesn't have the pulling power of those beasts but it's great at what it does. Really looking forward to snow up the mountains in Winter

Swapped a set of conti sport contacts for some michelin primacy 3 on my wife's 4 series. It went from a car I plain didn't really like into a brilliant car in one fell swoop. Continentals were VERY hard.

Any Continental and Pirelli tyres I have had have been crap. Been a few years since I had Continentals. Have Pirelli P-Zero on the Golf at the minute and grip wise they are terrible and that’s with 5mm plus thread on them.

Mid range wise I find Kumho Ecsta PS71 good. Then premium wise always found Eagle F1 Asy good. Want to try Michelin Pilot Sports though anyone that has them raves about how good they are.

It was a mechanic who recommended the conti sportcontacts.
I talked to 3 tyre places, all said Eagle F1s were better as well as here.
Decision made.

Pirelli P-Zero RFT came on mine from the factory and I've always replaced them with the same. I find them very good in the dry and wet even with the remap and would put them on par with Eagle F1.

I changed from Michelin Primacys on my last car to F1 Asy3s and the Goodyears felt miles ahead in terms of grip.

In the last month I swapped the Potenzas on my mk7 GTi to F1 Asy5s and am very happy with them so far. Turn in feels sharper and more direct.

Nexen n'fera su1 or su4 are great if you are on the budget, very underrated tire

I had triangle tires on the back of my first e61
They stood up to some punishment but had zero grip in the wet

I know this may not be the most appropriate thread but I’ll share here anyway.

As a big rally fan it always amazes me how many idiots you’ll see out on the stages (you get the idiots doing doughnuts in the middle of towns too but that’s another story). People stand in the most stupid places and take ridiculous risk to see the cars. Marshalls do their best but they might as well be talking to the wall with a lot of them. The below happened today at Rally Germany round of the WRC. Some of the drivers on the Ulster Rally last weekend were complaining about spectators standing in stupid areas too. Theses ****wits will eventually kill off my favourite motorsport.
