Who is the smartest person you know?

Two people.

Ex college lecturer he spoke 4 languages. Had three PHDs in very different subjects. Very sociable. Good with people. Wise too.

My brother. Can get to grips with any topic. Can figure out anything to do with a computer. Computer science PHD and a separate masters in maths. Can learn to swim in any environment.

I don’t know if there’s a way to compare them that one would be smarter than any of the others, but I’m fortunate enough to know some genuinely smart people. I know it’s not much of an answer as to who is the smartest person I know, but I can’t think of a way to judge any one of them smarter than the other. They’re all smart in their own ways.

I am actually not. But that is a kind thing to say. And king people are usually smart.

I will add two more.

A friend who is an accountant. He gets top of the country in Exams with zero study. Its actually unfair how smart he is. Speaks two languages.

Another friend she speaks three languages and maybe not the most academic but very socially smart.

Its a myth that smart people are not nice.

Actually studies have shown highly intelligent people are nicer than average because they are more self aware.:)

The people who have been kindest to me in life are usually the PHD's the Mensa members or just really smart people with no formal education.

His college ones obv he also has a chemical engineering degree from UCD. But that area didn't pay so well.

He then went to DCU for accounting and finance.

He then had to get ATI membership.

Practical experience and FAE exams (which he found easy).

He's always had what appears to me to be an equal level of street smart to smart smart!

Not really related but when he was a kid, his father use to like to put on the odd bet but at the time the bookies could easily rip you off so because my dad was good at working out the odds and stuff, my granda would take him with him to mathematically prove his winnings!

I have two masters ao o do believe I am bright enough and it was you that said he could learn to swim in any environment?

Perhaps he could learn at Fukushima perhaps, lovely environment to learn to swim!

I generally think people seeking validation in this thread are those putting intelligence or the education of others down out of some sense of insecurity.

Its like someone who couldn't pass the leaving saying PHD is useless. Or someone unemployed saying accountants aren't smart.

Like that drunk guy on the bus who says kids are not taught anything in school these days.
