Yup .... looked at bringing the kids earlier in the week but for what is a pre season friendly it’s over priced.

The Welsh game in a few weeks is even more expensive.

Given the forecasted weather tomorrow there’ll be few walk ups.

school boy/girl tickets are a tenner so not overpriced at all and what price would you see as ok for an adult?

Two adults @€;50 with one child @€;10 + fees is approx €120 like I said.

There was feck all €30 adult tickets, and those were in the restricted view sections.

I would have set the price in the best manner to fill the stadium. So from that point of view I'd have priced all the 500 sections at €30.

Kids tenner tickets cannot be purchased without an adult ticket accompanying.

RDS horse show is on tomorrow as well as the semifinal in croke park too. Could be a dismal turnout. And I don't hold high hopes for the rugby being a spectacle either.

Standard procedure. Kids must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Circa 35,000 tickets sold as of last week according to the info I got so it won't be "half empty".

It’s Italy and that’s the problem...they should have reduced more but they lose run of themselves every few years.....they should have sold them off in 10 hours or something...stupid

RTE2 and Channel 4. Afaik RTE are showing both home tests (not sure about Wales v Ireland though), Channel 4 showing the Italy game and both games involving Wales. The England game is on Sky, of course.

It serves the same purpose as any pre season friendly.

They are a necessary evil.

Mind you whether we need 4 of them and whether we need to be playing so early is another matter.

It's not the main course but should be an entertaining appetiser.

The squad isn't going to go from warm up mode to match fitness without playing a few games. I think Italy are the optimal team to face first up, we can physically outmatch them but they'll be well drilled and won't roll over.

It won't be much of a spectacle, but from a preparation point of view I think it's ideal.

Going from cold into a full intensity match against either Wales, England or France would increase the risk of injury imo. We obviously won't play Scotland as they are in our pool.

What does a performance against Italy tell you? Not much imo.
