Anyway got sorted last week by Daltons who brought one in from the UK for me. 152 PP DSG in carbon grey with 8k miles and a host of extras; leather, tech, Dynaudio to name a few. Daltons we’re great to deal with as always. For those on the fence or looking at these the car is a serious all rounder as mentioned. Definitely feels better than the sum of its parts if that makes sense. It feels quicker than the numbers suggest. Turn in is excellent as is the grip. You feel the diff working when pushed in a corner. I’ve done a lot of miles in a well speced F10 520d M sport and the GTI feels every bit as good for motorway cruising - especially with acc and app connect. It’s also very capable at soaking up the bumps on our rubbish roads. Explicitly went for the GTI over an R as I’ve always preferred the looks. Runnings costs will be easier too. No doubt the R is more capable but the GTI doesn’t leave me wanting more for now.
