I don't think I've ever seen a Yaris of that vintage with its headlights looking so clear, looks like a genuine minter .

The facelift ones don’t tend to suffer from cataracts.

That is a lovely clean example alright, but a bit pricey. I’m not sure the Mk1 Yaris is as desirable today as it was a few years ago.

I could get a 05 5 door, with full history etc, and 24k miles, for a good bit less than that tomorrow if I wanted.

It isn't a great engine but if it's a well maintained car then it can be trouble free.

Sludging of the oil can be an issue - has presented as having the turbo faile and then the replacement failing again not long after as the sludging that caused the turbo failure wasn't fixed.

In an ideal world you wouldnt buy the 1.6 unless the servicing was top notch and the car well cared and driven etc.

But now the car is bought - id keep it well serviced, get the sump cleaned etc and see how it goes.

1500 euro cars always present an element of risk - especially diesels.

Subarus are horrible with LPG. When on LPG, the valves regulation is much more crucial - slightly out of spec and they burn. Not an issue with any engine with hydraulic regulation. But Subaru has manual regulation - and you have to take the engine out to do it...

The previous owner probably did get their share of savings - will the next one save anything?

Hi Duke, That is a cracker, Liberty won't touch it , even though I have a policy with them. I have a classic policy with F.B.D. so I need a daily "driver" for to maintain this policy. Any ideas!
