Breheny could have phoned in practically all his article for the past few years, not just those relating to Mayo.

Reading this just brought home to me how much the fitness levels and attitude off the modern GAA player at all levels has changed over the years.
I remember a time when that sentence would have been followed with "bring wintergreen"

You'd be surprised at the levels involved. Most of the counties have spatters of ex county players. Definitely no holding back in these games.
Most of the Mayo players are also playing with their clubs so have the engine for it.

Well well the plot thickens.

For more than a few years there have been questions about km79s real identity around here (even though it's against the charter)

Maybe we will soon be close to or at the truth.

Don`t get me wrong I wasn`t knocking them, if anything I was complimenting them and from a few Donegal lads I know who have played in this competition I know how competitive it is.
I was really only remarking on how the level of fitness has improved and how players now look after themselves over all grades year round.

I`m off an age that I remember a time come the start of the national league, lets just say, it wasn`t difficult to spot a fair few lads who had wintered well playing.
Changed times and games are better for it at all levels, contrary too all the old palaver you hear of "being better in my day".
