It is safer for all concerned to take note of the dangers and be cautious. It's a yield, not a stop, so cyclists need to take care.

S2S should be on the Seafront- Not the Merrion Rd. Make your views known to the NTA before the May 31st deadline. The preliminary plans for the Bus Connects puts part of the S2S on the Merrion Road instead of on the seafront where it can be constructed with the Coastal Protection of the Railway which is also being planned.
