iPod says there's no music even though there's only 7 GB of memory left

My iPod Classic shows that there's no music on it but it also says that most of the memory has been used up. I've reset it manually a few times but it hasn't made any difference.

I really don't want to have to restore it or lose all the music that is on it. Any idea on how to fix this?
