He is. Picking the environment or housing is completely different to calling immigrants freeloaders. It's stirring hatred and a con because I don't believe he's bothered personally. I'd like to see his taxes so we can judge who's the freeloader.

I thought it was bogus asylum seekers he referred to as freeloaders not immigrants in general?

What makes me think you're Gerry's loyal bot is not just the above but that I have never seen your post anything critical of SF, and frequently post in favour of or sympathetic to SF. This of course fits in nicely with what is known about SFs online campaigning strategy.

A bit of honesty around here would be refreshing.

That's between you and him. I was pointing out the difference in what was said and what was implied.

All major parties believe in copious amounts of social services and social welfare, non strict sentencing for habitual repeat criminal offenders, distancing of state and church, some sort of abortion, marriage equality, etc.

Now some members of the major parties may be against some of the above, but it is never a party stance, bar the religiously conservative flutes in say Renua and that party started by ex shinner Peader Tobin.

I would say the vast majority of the conservatives politicans in Ireland for the most part are just thinking conservatively in terms of sexual preferences and abortion.

The issue for me, and from my experience I would say a fair amount of people, is that we are fiscally conservative regarding use of government funds, want end to career welfareists and money spent on the true needy like disabled or chonically ill and the carers, want tighter controls on immigration, want tougher sentences for habitual criminals and dangerous criminals, but couldn't give a rats ass which adult sexual partner you want and think women should have a right to not be forced to have a baby against their will.

I don't think I have come across any politician that espouse those views and inherits that space.

IMHO that is where there is a gap in the market.

You may well be right. But you're getting away from the point here and dragging in a load of issues that aren't relevant.

Most politicians are, in terms of liberal or conservative, whatever the hell people want them to be. And there are enough conservative thinkers amongst the electorate to pull some of them to that side. If the vote is traditional conservative then that's how the prospective politician will pitch his call.

The opposite is also true. If politicians are coming out with liberal or progressive views, then it's because THAT'S where they believe the votes are. This is why the main parties have drifted in a more liberal direction over the last twenty years or so.

One way or the other, voicing your concerns with the politicians - on local as well as national level - is how you get them on your side.

You may have missed the point in my post. I didn't call those who vote for Casey vulnerable. Casey will exploit the vulnerable by attacking them and then get cheered for telling the 'truth'.

You can see it happening already, people extrapolating that he was really talking about immigrants in general.
Next we will get the stories of grannies cowering in fear under their beds all over Ireland. 'The country is being over run' etc etc etc rinse and repeat.

I am not a supporter of SF nor a member. How's that for honesty. Why i would hide it if I was on an anonymous forum, escapes me.
I do defend them, when the attacks are being carried out by those who hate republicanism in general.

Actually I listened to Casey on the TWIP along with the other candidates he attacked no one. That is as always your claim/opinion or whatever you want to call it.
