Planning on doing a front and rear diff oil change on my ol jimny and said I'd check the filler plug first before i open the drain plug. Lucky i did, I can't get it open, either of them. I've been spraying them with penetrating oil the last few days but doesn't seem to be helping. Heating the area would probably be the answer i get but i don't have access to a flamethrower

I did see a video where a jack is wedged up under the wrench and then it's jacked up, popping the filler plug. I'm a bit weary of this as I don't want to shear or cross thread, or even snap the wrench. Any ideas?

Need new front tyres for the A4 have the option of Bridgestone Potenzas S001 or Eagle F1s AS3 for the same price which is the better tyre to go for ?

Eagles all the way. Stay away from the potenzas they are brutal from my experience in damp conditions.

Your right about not wanting to try that with the jack as what you said will most likely happen. Heat is the only reasonable option.

Agree.

Potenzas are muck, particularly in our climate as they're a bit iffy in the wet on any car I've had them on.

I'm a fan of F1s but I'm going to try PS4s next time to see what all the fuss is about.

Yes I got a price for Michelin PS4’s and they are €25 a corner more so not sure if I will get the value out of them since the F1s are a very good tyre anyway and will feel like a big step up from the Kumho that are on it which tbh are not too bad at all really.

Filled the car up this morning. 430 miles on a tank, and the trip computer said there was still another 16 miles left to empty.

Since the previous fill up, I did Dublin to Kerry and back (and I wasn't driving like a nun either), about 30 miles around Dublin, plus a fairly spirited blast to Enniskerry, so I wasn't particularly trying to drive economically, for what they are (old school NA straight six) they're really good on fuel!

Does make me wonder if I could get more than 450 miles on a tank if I was a little braver and had a more economy biased driving style :pac:.

It's currently 150 miles to the warning light on a 60 litre tank tho.

I don't put much faith in the trip computers. Mine always says it has about 100 miles more than what's in the tank.
630 miles is the max I've pushed it too and the needle was reading empty at that stage. I know that's not always accurate either but it's not off by 100 miles either

Got 520 miles out of my last tank in the 535. Although a lot of that was 100km/h roads. With some hooning around at the weekend going to glendalough, sally gap and kilbeggan car show, I'm over half a tank used for 200 miles. Tank is 70litres
