N25/N30 - New Ross Bypass [open to traffic]

This week's local papers have the listings of CPO's for the New Ross bypass so some relief in prospect at the bridge in town.

Are their any images of the new river crossing available? I'm told it will be the highest bridge in Ireland. True? Where it's due to join the Waterford road at Glenmore is certainly a high point.

Update as of last Wednesday a total of 36 deck segments that will make up the main river span between piers 3 and 4,21 segments have been completed, and 7 of the 18 cables at pier 4 have been installed

The most likely cause of the delay is with the bridge, so it would be reasonable to assume that the section you refer to, plus the section to the bottom of Camblin Hill, will be ready on time, or at least before the bridge part.
Unless there are contractual reasons preventing a partial opening, I can't see why they wouldn't open it.

At one point i thought it was slightly off with some of the angles which the pictures were taken from

ah sure even if they were we could always use it for bungee jumping. The bridge that never was right next to the town that never was.

Going to be fine structure when finished. The n25 is lucky to have 2 big bridges in a short stretch (i know its down to the topography). Most other roads in this country are lacking big engineering pieces.
