They do HUNDREDS of xray's day in day out, for years, getting thousands if times more exposure than you. That's why they stand behind a screen and wear the vests.

I know that there was a theory before that all itcould take was one x-ray to spark a cancer.The mass X ray program 40 odd years ago was abolished out of concerns.

Sure it could take one cig, one speck of dust, or fibre of asbestos to spark cancer, the fact is that they dont know why many cancers are caused, but getting an xray isnt one of them.

Fwiw at last count i have had 112 xrays in my lifetime (just shy of 50) and afaik i am cancer free.

You counted each one good on ye want to live in Chernobyl. You now claim one does not get cancer from multiple X rays but defend operators who go behind a screen as you say they are exposed to multiple amounts ? I was exposed to years of asbestos dust but I did not get cancer yet .
