i have just moved into an area where there is an Aldi, i am not really familiar with the store, what do you recommend of their products.

I had the red Thai curry vegetable one pot for lunch today (found in the lunch section of the chilled foods). Really tasty and creamy but quite light in cals. Great lunch option.

I had a really nice cheeseburger with them so was in a forgiving mood, I also covered them in seasoning and grated cheese and they were fine. Is a strip of parsnip deep fried in oil and frozen really that much healthier than a potato though? Probably not. Ill just stick to the spuds in future I think...

We use boneless thighs (not the Aldi ones though) for Chicken Teryaki, we follow this recipe:

It's to die for, way better than using chicken breast. We used kikkoman teryaki sauce as we couldn't get any proper mirin (I don't want the Tesco mirin) and it was great.

Hard to say. They are on the shelf in my ALDI long with the Super 6 meats, but they've been there for a couple of Super 6s. Think they are branded, rather than the usual ALDI packaging, was it Manor Farm?

There were boneless chicken thighs in two Aldis I was in last week, in Waterford and Cork.

Hope they become a regular thing, I really like thighs but can't be bother with deboning them myself. Made some really nice buttermilk fried chicken with them.

Looking for another recipe to use them again this week if they are there.

Alas I have not yet had a chance to sample them, only bought a couple of bottles to make sure they are the same which are in the garage cooler right now.

Monday evenings are usually a good time for me to relax with a beer and put the weekend behind me, so I will probably open them tomorrow and report back.

Some nice Specially Selected pies in the frozen food section, 2 in a pack. The Steak and Merlot are decent but the Chicken with white wine and pancetta are even nicer.

And I would be worried if I were you as very often when some of their products return they aren't the same any more.
Thats my main issue with supermarket own label products, not just Aldi.

Even worse when they return with this "new improved recipe"

This usually means new supplier, new price. Not necessarily better to us.

Tried those Picanha steaks in piri piri glazing.

Normally don't buy meat already seasoned, but love piri piri so why not

Very nice, 4 rather tiny steaks with relatively lot of fat cover on the sides at 4.99, but quick to cook and very nice for a quick mini steak dinner.

The fish burgers are back. They had both the buttermilk and Southern fried. Same branding (the tasty catch co) but boxes seem a bit smaller.

Noticed organic easy peelers were 50% off so tried them. Now know why they were not selling.

Would be easier to peel a pineapple without a knife. Juice all over, these are not easy peelers at all

Worst clementines I tried in a while. Taste was OK. But not worth it at all.

Is that not a "garlic spread" rather than a butter? They have an actual garlic butter in a cylinder shape that's lovely and strong. The spread doesn't have a lot of flavour but I use it on bagels, or with crackers and cheese.
