No idea where I got it or why/how I brought it home. He remainded in the house for 3 years of college

Is your house over in shankill or Dalkey area ?

I remember seeing one of those in a window out that direction

My brother brought a bus stop home once. Seriously. It had been knocked down and been lying down on our road for a few days, so he was walking by drunk one night and decided to bring it home because if he had a bus stop he could bring it everywhere with him and stop a bus anywhere he wanted. Good times.

I stuck it up my jacket and got chased through Temple Bar by a council worker. Looked like a poor re-enactment of E.T.

Made it to the apartment with it. Battery lasted for a few months too.

My flatmates brought home a 7 ft shop sign one night. We had a flat inspection and the only place they could hide it was under one of their duvets. We were all praying the landlord wouldnt sit on the bed for any reason.

The teeshirt was swopped with some guy (who showed a group of us a plaster cast of his nob) who liked mine. It had a sloth on it, riding (non sexually) a turtle, as far as I recall.

Took a pot plant from a pub once during the Jazz festival.

I took a country route home one summer's night/early morning after a fairly hectic session and befriended them along the way. They were good company for a spell but as I got closer to home I tried to shoo them away. Fair dues to them though, they were loyal right to the end. Right to the point where I closed my front door on their earnest little faces and went straight to bed.

Disclaimer: I did give them a bowl of milk and a good few slices of luncheon to sustain them for their walk home.

When living in student accommodation in Galway, two lads in house rolled an empty 5ft diameter wooden cable reel home, probably about 2km journey over footpaths. Heavy yoke, even though no cable on it. No idea why they decided to take it, probably needed to do something to keep warm. It was still in the back garden when we moved out.

Some friends of mine in college had a metal barrier from the St Patrick's Day parade. They kept in in their sitting room for ages. I think they skillfully brought it back the following spring. :pac:
