The point is only awarded if the person is in the top 10, so somebody at the back can't just slap on new tyres and go for glory. Won't stop the front times trying if they have a big enough gap back to the midfield. I'll wait to see what impact if any it has before I make my mind up. My gut instinct is it's a bit gimmicky.
