Could be a long old night considering they'll come at us from the off this time instead of hanging back for a half.

He'd be a cheaper option than Sancho probably and might need to move to kick on a bit. He'd cover 2 positions too. That said, another year in the championship and he could improve a lot again.

I find it bizarre, only a select few have the goalscoring capabilities on a consistent regular basis of Lukaku in the PL. Those few being Kane and Aguero. That's it. There's a few in tiers below him that are getting there (Aubemayang, Salah, just off the top of my head) but makes no sense to me that people want to get rid of him, particularly now he's started to show glimpses of being back to his best in recent games.

I don't think he's a top striker but he has shown ability to get goals against the bottom 14 teams which is something that United have struggled with at a lot of times since Fergie left. He does have the right attitude but that only goes so far and his big game record lets him down. Against top defences he struggles but he can be invaluable against the lower teams when deployed correctly.

Do you think if he stays he will accept life on the bench or in rotation? I have a feeling he would be sacrificed to fund a right wing forward and I think he will want to move if he isn’t starting. That’s my opinion of the situation but I’m not asking for him to be sold.

I especially find it weird when people say that it's why they want him sold (which happens on here regularly!) "Sure, he can score the decisive goals regularly to win matches, but all those other fruitless attacks we have, that's when I want him to be better" ....... like they expect a team to score every time they go forward. The most difficult thing to do in a game is put the ball in the net. Lukaku has had a difficult season, lost his place and yet has only scored 4 less in the league than Harry Kane this season (and Kane takes penalties). When you have a striker who scores goals regularly, can finish on his left, right or with his head, is pretty quick, exceptionally strong and is only 25 years old..... and some people don't want him playing? And others don't even want him at the club? Crazy. He scores for fun for Belgium with KBD and Hazard creating chances for him. He's now scoring again for United because our attack is actually functioning. I find it odd that in an attack that can barely create a chance, it's the striker that's the scape goat. Aguero or Kane would have struggled to score goals in this team in the first half of the season.

Problem is that unless we pick up say Alderweireld for cheap and maybe the likes of Rabiot for free then we won’t have enough in our budget to get a €100 million Jadon Sancho and a €50 million RB. I think the sale of Lukaku is on the cards. If that generates €70 million say, then we might spend close to €200 million in return. Otherwise I can’t see us going far over the €100 million mark on transfers.
