From a cold start there is a 'engine stutter' which means the car is hopping all over the place until everything gets warmed up. I also have issues with the car speeding up by itself in 2nd gear which is a nightmare driving around car parks. Car has been back with Volkswagen and they acknowlwdge there is an issue and that they are working on a software update, but they have been working on it for a year now and no sign of it. Google TROC and kangarooing and you will get loads of people discussing issues with the 1.5tsi in the entire VAG range. See alsohttps://www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/owning-1/2019-01/volkswagen-acknowledges-problem-with-15-tsi-evo-engine/ It doesn't affect all 1.5tsi engines, just some of them. I would recommend you do a test drive from a cold start and see how it drives. The issue also seems to only effect manual gearboxes. Just be careful, you don't want to spend big money on a car that is a nightmare to drive. Talk to the dealer about the issue and see what they say. I know a lot of dealers will say they have never heard of an issue but they just want to sell the car they don't care what happens when you leave the showroom with it. It's a pity because aside from that it's a great car, has a great spec and looks really well espicaially in R-Line trim.

Bout 2k Dealer recommend aftermarket leather fitting as you should be able to get it done for about 1600 and the quality is often better. Part of the extra cost is vrt.. if you pre order the car is more expensive so more vrt.. Nolan Auto Care did my Civic few years ago and it was brilliant

I'm aware that trimming companies can do good work but I'd walk away from any car that had such an interior.

JoeA3 wrote: » He's giving you nothing for your car. Are you saying the retail price of a new one (before any discount) is 36.5k? If you went in to order that with no trade in you'd surely get ~1500 off that at least, plus all the other incentives that VW throw into new cars bought on finance (a further ~1500 purchase contribution, low APR, etc). That makes the 182 at 34k sound very expensive to me.If you tidied it up the Passat and put it up on DoneDeal you'd surely get a few quid for it. That'll leave you in a stronger position to buy the new car with no trade-in in the equation, because what you've on offer there is not a "deal".

I do mostly city driving and although I know i probably should buy petrol, is the 1.0 engine enough to drive size of car smoothly. I see the SEAT ATECA engine sizes are same as TROC but about 3000 cheaper. Any advice welcome
