Hi folks,

So preorders start at 8.01am. What are people going for memory and colour wise?

I planning to go with XS Max 64GB , I dont need the extra storage. Thinking about Gold as its a new colour.

Considering moving to the XS, does anyone with the XS, Max or XR have many issues with mobile and wifi dropping?

Reading online the issues the new line of phones seem to have with mobile and wifi dropping regularly due to the intel chip being used. I can only find mostly Americans ranting about it, wondering if here in Ireland anyone is seeing these issues?

Went through the entire thread and havent found much.

I have a fear (probably an unreasonable one) of a non-Apple charger doing damage over time to the iPhone battery but €55 (€80 including the cable) is something that I cannot afford at the moment.

You are going to struggle with this.

The reason why insurance companies will not want to insure that is, there is no replacement phone in Ireland they can source in the event of a claim. That model number isn't sold in Ireland.

I love when people say the battery is “great” compared to their old phone.

Yeah, it’s not a massive surprise that your new phone with a brand new battery is going to last longer than the phone you have been using for years.

Settings/sound & haptics/ringtone/vibration/Rapid. If the motor does not pulse repeatedly on this setting, then you're in trouble. Making a CUSTOM setting will not overcome this.

Have you tried to make your own vibration patterns and see if that works?

Settings | Sounds & Haptics | Ringtone | Vibration | Create New Version

Make a long one and see how you go. Just as an aside, I've not experienced the symptoms mentioned, good luck.

Just purchased my XR, delighted with the screen size. Upgraded form the 8 so this is all new to me! It is noticeably heavier but I am actually surprised the size of the screen is not much bigger. To go form 4.7 to 6.1 I thought it would be massive but it looks great. I was so impressed with the battery on the 8, and to think this will be a further improvement. At this price point this seems like an excellent product

I’d need a full body protection incl full screen cover so as nice as the official silicon case is it wouldn’t be what I need. If I was looking for a cover to leave on the phone all the time that’s what I’d be looking at.

i've stuck with the Silicon case for the Xs Max -- its worth paying the premium for the apple one - it's not too thick and shows off the screen really well. Works perfectly with the wireless charger and slips on and off easily

I bought this one from Amazon, thinking it might be a temporary case until I could find something fancier. I'm normally fussy about cases and have always bought the Apple leather ones.

Turns out this case is perfect. Very light and thin, and also has a grippy, matt effect that doesn't show every fingerprint. Also, when you remove the case it isn't filled with dust or grit like some cheap cases that don't fit. Recommended!

Just picked up an XR and have to say really liking it so far. Battery is good easily get day and half out of it or so. Thought I would be put off by the size but not too bad. Only think is now what case to get?? I don’t particularly like puttting them on as they lose the nice feel but need someway to protect it.
